A-level German Revision Course (Year 13)

Service Description

Our intensive Year 13 A-Level German Summer Revision Course is designed to give students a strong start to their final A-Level year. The course consolidates essential Year 12 knowledge, addresses gaps in grammar and vocabulary, and develops the advanced language and exam skills required to work towards an A or A*. Taught by an experienced native German tutor, the course combines systematic language revision with focused preparation across all aspects of the A-Level examination: Paper 1, Paper 2 and the speaking examination. Our A-Level students have an excellent track record, with 95% achieving grades A or A*. Grammar and Paper 1 Students will revise and practise the advanced grammar required for confident and accurate A-Level German, including: German tenses Word order and syntax The four cases and prepositions Adjective declensions The subjunctive The passive voice We will also develop effective strategies for listening, reading, writing and translation, with targeted practice for Paper 1 and a particular focus on accuracy, vocabulary and exam technique. Paper 2: Film and Literature Students will develop the analytical and essay-writing skills required for Paper 2, learning how to structure sophisticated arguments, analyse their chosen film and literary text effectively, incorporate evidence and respond precisely to the question. Speaking and IRP Preparation The course provides focused preparation for the speaking examination, including speaking cards and the Independent Research Project (IRP). Students will learn how to develop and present their ideas confidently, respond spontaneously and prepare effectively for discussion of their chosen IRP topic. By the end of the course, students should begin Year 13 with stronger German, greater confidence across all examination components and a clear understanding of what is required to achieve the highest A-Level grades. All course materials are included, and recordings of every Zoom session will be provided, allowing students to revisit lessons throughout Year 13.
