GCSE German Revision Course (Y10)

Service Description

Our intensive Year 10 GCSE German Summer Revision Course is designed to help students consolidate the foundations of GCSE German and return to school with greater confidence and a stronger command of the language. The course revises important material from previous years, addresses common gaps in grammar and vocabulary, and prepares students for the increased demands of Year 10. Taught by Andrea, an experienced native German tutor, the course combines systematic revision with focused practice across all four skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. Students will learn to use German more accurately, confidently and independently while beginning to develop the techniques required for the higher GCSE grades. Grammar and Accuracy A strong grammatical foundation is essential for GCSE success. We will revise and practise key areas including: German tenses Word order and sentence structure The four cases Prepositions and case usage Students will also practise GCSE-style listening, reading and translation tasks, developing strategies for understanding more challenging language, identifying key information and dealing with unfamiliar vocabulary. Writing and Speaking Students will learn how to produce more accurate, varied and sophisticated written German, extending their answers, expressing and justifying opinions, and using a broader range of vocabulary and grammatical structures. Speaking practice will focus on developing confidence and spontaneity, with students learning how to give longer, more detailed answers and respond effectively to GCSE-style questions and tasks. By the end of the course, students should return to Year 10 with a stronger grammatical foundation, greater confidence across all four skills and a clearer understanding of what is required to achieve the higher GCSE grades. All course materials are included, and recordings of every Zoom session will be provided, allowing students to revisit lessons and consolidate their learning throughout Year 10.
