A-Level German Results 2026: Celebrating Our Students’ A* Success

A-Level Results Day is always one of the most rewarding days of the year at Olesen Tuition. After months of preparation, revision and hard work, there is nothing better than hearing from students who have achieved the results they were hoping for.

This year has given us plenty to celebrate, with former students getting in touch to share some exceptional A-Level German results.



One student secured her place at Oxford University after achieving an A in German*:

“I have my place at Oxford University, and I received an A* in German! Thank you so much for all of your help in getting me here.”

Another achieved an A in German, with full marks in the speaking examination, and secured his place at Cambridge University*:

“I got my A* in German (with full marks in speaking) and made my Cambridge offer! Thank you so much for all your support – I couldn’t have done it without you.”

And an International A-Level German student sent us this wonderful message after receiving her result:

“I’ve just received my International A-Level German grade – A*!! I’m so happy and so incredibly grateful to you for making this possible for me!”

We are incredibly proud of all our students and delighted to have played a part in helping them achieve their goals.


What Does It Take to Achieve an A or A* in A-Level German?

Excellent A-Level German results rarely come from last-minute revision alone. The strongest students develop their German systematically throughout the course, combining a secure knowledge of grammar and vocabulary with the specific skills required by the examination.

In our experience, successful A-Level students benefit particularly from:


  • a thorough understanding of German grammar and syntax

  • a broad and sophisticated vocabulary

  • regular reading, listening and translation practice

  • accurate and idiomatic written German

  • strong essay-writing skills for the chosen film and literary text

  • confident preparation for the speaking examination and Independent Research Project

  • a detailed understanding of the assessment criteria and examination technique


For many students, the difference between a B and an A, or between an A and an A*, is not simply knowing more German. It is learning how to apply that knowledge accurately, confidently and consistently under examination conditions.


Preparing for GCSE and A-Level German in 2026–27

As we celebrate this year's A-Level results, we are already looking forward to helping the next generation of GCSE and A-Level German students achieve their own goals. Our GCSE and A-Level German Summer Revision Courses begin on Monday, 17 August 2026, giving students an opportunity to strengthen their German before returning to school. The courses are taught in small groups by experienced native German tutors and focus on grammar, vocabulary, translation, reading, writing and speaking.


This summer we are offering:

  • Year 9 – Preparing for GCSE German

  • Year 10 – GCSE German Revision

  • Year 11 – GCSE German Revision (only 3 places remaining)

  • Year 12 – Preparing for A-Level German

  • Year 13 – A-Level German Revision

German Tuition Throughout the Academic Year

For students who cannot attend the summer courses, Olesen Tuition also offers support throughout the academic year. Our weekly GCSE and A-Level German classes for Years 9–13 begin in September, alongside one-to-one private German tuition for students who would benefit from more individual support.

We also run intensive GCSE and A-Level German revision courses during the school holidays, including October half-term, February half-term, Easter and May half-term.

Whether a student is aiming to consolidate their German, move up a grade or work towards an A or A*, our aim is the same: to provide the expert teaching, structure and individual feedback they need to fulfil their potential.
