Outstanding GCSE & A-Level German Results at Olesen Tuition in 2026

We are delighted to celebrate another exceptional year of GCSE and A-Level German results at Olesen Tuition.

Following GCSE Results Day, we can now confirm that an outstanding 95% of our GCSE German students achieved Grades 8 or 9 in 2026.

Our A-Level German students were equally successful, achieving excellent A and A* results and, in two particularly exciting cases, securing their places at Oxford and Cambridge.



95% Grades 8 or 9 in GCSE German

Achieving a top grade in GCSE German requires much more than simply learning vocabulary. Students need a secure understanding of German grammar, confidence across listening, reading, writing and speaking, and the ability to apply their knowledge accurately under exam conditions.

We are therefore incredibly proud that 95% of our GCSE German students achieved Grades 8 or 9 this year.

The messages we received following Results Day made those results even more rewarding.

One Grade 9 student wrote:

“I am just emailing to once again say thank you so, so much for all your help. There is no doubt you completely boosted my confidence and gave me the help and support I needed to reach the top grades.”

Another told us:

“I’m happy to say that I got a 9! Thank you so much for everything again!”

And one parent wrote:

“I wanted to thank you again for all your help. We really do appreciate it, and it has made a real difference.”

These comments reflect something we consider particularly important: successful GCSE German tuition should not only improve examination performance. It should also help students become more confident and capable users of the language.

Outstanding A-Level German results

Our A-Level German students also had plenty to celebrate in 2026.

Students achieved outstanding A and A* results, including students who successfully met their offers from Oxford and Cambridge.

One wrote:

“I have my place at Oxford University, and I received an A* in German! Thank you so much for all of your help in getting me here.”

Another achieved an A in German with full marks in the speaking examination* and secured their Cambridge place:

“I got my A* in German (with full marks in speaking) and made my Cambridge offer! Thank you so much for all your support – I couldn’t have done it without you.”

Our A-Level German tuition and weekly classes provide specialist support with grammar, translation, speaking, essay writing, set texts and films, and the Individual Research Project.


Preparing for GCSE, A-Level and IB German in 2027

While we are immensely proud of our 2026 students, our attention is already turning to the next academic year.

Olesen Tuition offers GCSE German tuition and courses, A-Level German tuition and classes and IB German tuition for Standard and Higher Level students.

Students who benefit from individual support can also choose private German lessons in London or online, while our German exam preparation provides targeted support for students preparing for important assessments.

We also run intensive German revision courses during the school holidays.

Our approach combines a thorough grounding in German grammar and vocabulary with systematic preparation for the requirements of each examination.

For students aiming for Grades 8 and 9 at GCSE or A and A* at A-Level, starting early allows us to identify weaknesses, build confidence and develop the skills required for the highest grades gradually throughout the academic year.
